Last Week Before Final Test

Dear parents,

It is difficult to believe that the year is almost over! Next week we will have our final tests. I am so proud of all my students and their efforts. Please see the exercises below and test scope to facilitate study.

Grade 4 English Final Exam Scope (Semester 2) 2018 – 2019

Date: Wednesday and Thursday, June 12-13, 2019

The recommended review material will be sent home and other material can be requested at the parents’ liability to the test scope.

Revision Content	Exam Tasks
Vocabulary 10% Please review vocabulary lessons 26-30 Language Handbook	Students must fill in the blank using a word bank. The spelling of the vocabulary must be correct.
Reading Comprehension 20% Softcover Journeys Lessons 26-30	Students will be given a short reading. They will demonstrate their comprehension skills by answering questions from the reading. Students will be given questions about the Journeys reading of Lessons 26-30.
Grammar 50% Enter the World of Grammar 30% Units 19-21 Modals Future “Going to”/ “Will” 20% Review from Unit 12, 14, 18	Students will complete gapped text, write full sentences, and answer multiple choice questions. Hint: study old quizzes
Writing 20% Expository Writing Grade 4 Writing Notebook	Students will be graded on the following criteria: Ø   Idea Ø   Organization of essay (introduction, body, conclusion) Ø   Supporting details Ø   Overall convention (spelling/grammar mistakes)
Science (Thursday) My Pals are Here Science 4B Unit 23 –Rotation of the Earth and the Moon Unit 24 – Solar System	Students will need to know: Ø   Vocabulary words/bold words from each unit Ø   Key points from reading Ø   Note: both text and pictures should be reviewed Ø   Hint: review self-check
Math (Thursday) Prime Mathematics Coursework Book 4B Unit 11.3Problem Solving with Decimals p.105-108 Unit 12 Symmetry p.109-120 Unit 13 Graphs p.121-133	Students will need to: Ø   Solve similar questions from the book Ø   Solve problems with decimals Ø   Write the correct unit for the answers Ø   Read and solve problems with tables and graphs Ø   Know when to use a bar or line graph
